Attended the media preview of Luke’s Lobster which will be serving their famous lobster rolls this Wed 23 Sep at the entrance of Isetan at Shaw Centre. I am sure some of you here would have lined up for their lobster rolls in Tokyo and NY before.
Eastern House of Seafood Delicacy: Lobster Hokkien Mee!
I first wrote about Eastern House of Seafood Delicacy in 2014 and since then we have been back there for our family meals quite a few times. The food has always been good and prices reasonable and we like that it is located at the bottom of a secluded block of flats in Chai Chee. They have just relocated and even though they are in the heart of Geylang, their new place still has that "ulu" (secluded) feel and best of all, there's free parking on the premises!
Discovering places like Chui Xiang Kitchen is really what this blog is all about. I really like these small eateries where the owner is also the chef. Chef owner restaurants are more common with cafes and Western eateries, but when it comes to Zi Char and local cuisine, you often find hired hands in the kitchen. Sometimes the owner doesn't even know how to cook! But when you find a small restaurant where the owner happens to be the chef, chances are that the food is going to be a little more special.
