Kopitiam Food Hall Parkway Parade –  32 Stalls and 6 Dishes at 50% Off!

Legacy Food Court Gets A Makeover

If you grew up in the East, you would probably have been to Parkway Parade. It has been the go-to mall for Easterners since its opening in 1983. And if you have been there, you would undoubtedly have eaten at the basement food court at some point. Now, that well-loved dining space has been taken over by new management and completely re-imagined as the new Kopitiam Food Hall.

Reopened in late March 2025, the food court is one of Singapore’s largest. It houses 32 stalls along with a beautifully designed Peranakan-themed seating area.

Kumquat Mojito $14, Fresh Hyogo Oysters 6pcs $22.80

This is not your usual Kopitiam look. The whole space has been given a more upmarket feel, complete with a bar for drinks. There is even a counter serving freshly shucked oysters, marking a bold new chapter for one of the East’s most familiar food destinations.

1. Yu Dai Lou Steamed Fish

Steamed Sea Bass with Soy Bean Sauce Set Meal $8.90

Steamed fish has been gaining popularity recently. It is no doubt driven by the public’s growing desire for something that is both tasty and healthy and easily accessible. It’s a dish you can enjoy regularly without feeling guilty, especially since most people don’t cook at home often.

We found the fish at Yu Dai Lou to be very well steamed, and we especially loved the bean sauce! It has that addictive quality you just can’t resist. They offer a few popular, farmed, table-sized fish to choose from. We went for the seabass, which was tender and fresh, with no muddy taste. This dish definitely begs to be enjoyed with a bowl of piping hot steamed rice!

2. Bali Bali Indonesia BBQ

Satay Ayam Set $8.50

Indonesian-style satay is a bit different from what you usually find here, but just as delicious. The aroma hit us the moment the plate was handed over! I must admit it took quite a bit of self-control to resist digging in straightaway while we were filming.

The skewers were grilled just right, with a nice char that gave them a smoky edge without overpowering the meat. The sauces paired perfectly. The smooth peanut sauce was rich and creamy, while the kicap manis added a sweet and savory kick that balanced everything beautifully.

If there’s one small complaint, it’s that the sauce could have been served warm. Besides the satay, they’ve got other BBQ items to choose from too, so there’s plenty to satisfy any craving for smoky, charred goodness!

3. Mama Putien

Hing Hwa Fried Bee Hoon $7.90

I can still remember the first time I tried the bee hoon at PUTIEN, back in 2006 when they opened their first restaurant on Kitchener Road. The strands were impossibly fine and incredibly tasty. Since then, they have expanded islandwide, and you can now find their signature bee hoon across many of their outlets. However, enjoying it usually meant dining in at their restaurants.

But fret not — they have now launched Mama PUTIEN at Kopitiam Food Hall, where a more affordable version of their signature bee hoon is being served. To keep prices accessible, they have streamlined the ingredients, but it still features their special fine bee hoon imported from Putien. That means you can now enjoy the bee hoon more often.

4. Lobster King Pao Fan

Prawn & Fish King Pao Fan $9.80

Pao fan is a relatively recent trend in Singapore. It was once found mainly in Chinese restaurants, especially at higher-end seafood establishments. But around 2020, hawker stalls began offering more affordable versions, making it far more accessible to everyone.

When I was younger, the only version I knew was Teochew fish porridge. Today, pao fan comes in a wide variety of flavours, all featuring whole grains of rice swimming in a rich, tasty broth. It is the ultimate comfort food.

The broth at Lobster King Pao Fan is rich with seafood and crustacean flavour, and they also provide crispy rice puffs that pair perfectly with the soupy rice. We chose the fish and prawn balls because it was easy to eat, but if you want to go all out, you can opt for the lobster.

5. Pin Wei Chee Cheong Fun

Chee Cheong Fun Charsiew $4.50

I still remember blogging about Pin Wei back in 2013 when it first opened at Pek Kio Market! Back then, freshly made Chee Cheong Fun was still quite a novelty, and Pin Wei was definitely one of the pioneers introducing it to Singapore’s hawker scene. We’re glad their efforts have been recognized by the Michelin folks, and now they’re making inroads into the food courts!

Nothing beats freshly steamed Chee Cheong Fun! It’s always silkier and slurpier than the factory-made stuff! And Pin Wei’s Hong Kong-style soy sauce is really delicious. They’ve got different flavours to choose from, but we stuck with the crowd favourite — charsiu.

6. Seabay Wok Delight

Salted Egg Chicken with Rice $7.80

If you are craving a tasty salted egg sauce, you can find it at Seabay Wok Delight. This halal zi char stall is known for its crispy fried chicken, generously smothered in rich, fragrant salted egg sauce that is tossed in a wok just before serving.

Apart from their best-selling salted egg chicken, you’ll also find a wide variety of other zi char favourites to choose from. This includes sambal chicken, Mongolian chicken, cereal chicken, sweet & sour chicken, buttermilk chicken, fried kway teow, seafood noodles, and more.

Other Stalls Worth Trying

7. Nana Homemade Curry

Chicken Curry Set Served With Fragrant White Rice (Regular) $9.90, Peranakan Chicken Wings 6 pcs, $6.90* (U.P. $9.90)*opening special until Dec 2025

Marina South was a popular dining destination in the 1980s, and one of the stalls that has survived till today is Na Na Curry. Since then, it has earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand for its consistently tasty curry, which has a truly distinctive flavour.

It is not quite the typical Singapore-style curry nor can you call it Peranakan or Malaysian. It has a distinct flavour which is best described as “Na Na” curry. Rich and full of depth, it is the kind of dish that quickly satisfies a deep umami craving!

8. HJH Maimunah Mini

Tahu Telor $8.50

Hjh Maimunah is one of Singapore’s most well-known nasi padang restaurants, famed for its homestyle Minangkabau dishes that have been passed down through generations. Starting as a small family stall in Kampong Glam, it has grown into a respected institution.

Its Bugis outlet often draws long queues for favourites like beef rendang, ayam opor, sambal goreng, and tauhu telor. The next generation has expanded into food courts, making its hearty, soulful flavours more accessible to many. Even though it is called “mini,” the range of dishes offered remains impressively extensive, and regulars can still find their favourite Nasi Padang dishes there. Mine would be ayam opor, beef rendang and bergedil!

9. Xin Yan Yong Tau Foo

Dry Yong Tau Foo With Signature Dry Hakka Noodles $8.20

Established in 2005, Xi Yan has been serving authentic Hakka and Chinese dishes passed down through generations in their restaurant at Shaw Centre. The restaurant has now expanded to its first food court outlet, featuring their signature Hakka-style Yong Tau Foo, stuffed with a meat filling handcrafted fresh daily on the premises.

Hakka-style Yong Tau Foo has become increasingly popular recently, with many stalls stuffing their tofu with minced pork and serving them as a set with a tasty sauce. The yong tau foo was good in general but we felt the filling could do with a bit more sole fish or salte fish for extra umami!

10. Ann Chin Popiah

Signature Popiah $2.60

From their humble beginnings in 1958, Ann Chin has grown into a formidable franchise renowned for serving delicious Popiah and Kueh Pai Tee. These light and flavourful dishes are the perfect choice when you’re too full for another main course but still crave something satisfying to round off your meal.

11. Dan Lao Scrambled Egg Rice

Luncheon Meat Scrambled Egg Rice $6.30

Yet another dish that has risen in popularity recently is scrambled egg fried rice. Originating from the Hong Kong cha chaan teng, it showcases the timeless trio of eggs, rice and soy sauce – with luncheon meat added for extra nostalgia.

Dan Lao, a local brand founded by four young hawkers, rode this trend by serving fluffy, creamy scrambled eggs over steaming rice bowls at their first outlet in Maxwell Food Centre in 2022. Since then, they’ve expanded steadily across the island, including food courts such as Kopitiam Food Hall here at Parkway Parade.

Rest of Stalls

It suffices to say that with a broad range of 32 stalls, there’s truly something for everyone here. Beyond the highlights above, you’ll also find well-established names like Ah Ma Chi Mian, Blanco Court Beef Noodles, Lam’s Noodle & Chicken, and Guan Chee Hong Kong Roast.

I just tried to use the above vouchers at both Bali Bali and Mama Putien, but both told me these vouchers cannot be used. Is this article just plain marketing and the QR codes are just duds?
