Video Blog: ieat learns to cook Japanese rice

Japanese food is so popular nowadays and I am sure that some of our readers would like to be able to put together some simple Japanese dishes at home. So I have started a new series of videos which covers some very basic Japanese dishes. Today we are going to tackle the most basic of dishes, namely, steamed rice. Later in the series, we will also be covering miso soup, charshu ramen and chawanmushi.

Joining me today is Chef Tsutomo Kondo, or Chef Tom for short. Chef Tom is married to a Singaporean lady and has lived in Singapore for 15 years. He is as adapt at cooking miso soup as he is at making Laksa. Chef Tom goes around visiting Singaporean homes teaching people how to cook Japanese cuisine. So if you are interested to organize a Japanese cooking class in your home, do write in to [email protected].

I hope you enjoy the video and if you do like it, please help to share it to all your friends. It will be a signal for us to produce more videos! Please let me know if there is something that you would really like to see in the next video blog series.
